Castile Security

Healthcare

Protect patient information, and be able to prove it.

Managed cybersecurity and IT for businesses that handle patient information, with 24/7 remote security monitoring and management and evidence ready when someone asks.

For medical and dental practices, billing and credentialing companies, and healthcare service providers.

What we see

Where healthcare businesses get caught out

The problems we find most often are not exotic. They are everyday habits that leave patient information exposed.

01

Patient information in the wrong places

Personal email accounts, shared logins, and files on laptops nobody is tracking.

02

Phishing aimed at the front desk

Fake insurer, vendor and payment emails built to get one person to click or pay.

03

Ransomware that stops the day

When scheduling, billing and records go down, patients and revenue wait.

04

Questions you cannot answer yet

A partner, payer or auditor asks for your policies, your risk assessment, or proof that safeguards are working.

How we help

Safeguards that hold up, and the paperwork to show it

Most of this is in every managed plan. Where something depends on the plan, we say so.

  • 24/7 security monitoring and management. Threats are blocked automatically, day and night.
  • Patient information on company accounts. Company-managed email, with sign-in protection and encryption where patient data lives.
  • Helps keep sensitive information from leaving by email. Data loss prevention for qualifying health businesses, in Managed and Complete. An email with patient records can be blocked before it goes out.
  • Lost laptops locked or wiped. Company computers set up securely and managed, in Managed and Complete.
  • Staff who spot the fakes. Short training and safe practice phishing emails, in English or Spanish.
  • HIPAA policies and a risk assessment. Written for your business through our compliance readiness work, aligned with the HIPAA Security Rule safeguards.
  • Payment request checks. A call-back process that helps your team verify suspicious payment requests.
  • A quarterly review you can hand over. Data from your own systems, with an honest verdict on what is working and what needs attention.

In practice / Healthcare credentialing

From personal email to a security score of 88

A medical credentialing company handled patient information on personal email, with no documented safeguards. Over a year of managed security, we moved it to managed email, enforced multi-factor authentication and encryption, trained the team, and wrote the HIPAA policy set.

25% → 76%HIPAA-aligned control coverage

Client anonymized under engagement terms. HIPAA-aligned control coverage is Castile’s own assessment, not a legal determination of HIPAA compliance.

Does this make us HIPAA compliant?

No single service can promise that. We put safeguards in place that align with the HIPAA Security Rule, write the policies and risk assessment, and keep evidence that the safeguards are working. Compliance is ultimately a determination about your whole organization, not a product.

Do you support our EHR or practice management software?

We do not support software we do not provide or license. When something goes wrong with it, we triage the problem and hand it to the vendor, and we secure the accounts and computers your team uses to reach it.

Can you work with our existing IT person?

Yes. Choose a plan by how much you want us to handle, and we work alongside the people you already have.

Do you work with practices outside El Paso?

Yes. Every plan is available nationwide and delivered remotely. On-site support is included in Managed and Complete in the El Paso region, including Las Cruces; elsewhere, on-site work is quoted separately.

What happens if something goes wrong after hours?

Monitoring and management keep running, and threats are still blocked automatically. For a security emergency, call (915) 995-2495. Everything else is handled the next business day.
